Our Mission
Coín and surroundings
Coin is a traditional Spanish town of approximately 22,000 inhabitants set in the mountains about 30 kilometres southwest of Malaga and about half an hour’s drive from the beaches of Marbella and Fuengirola.
It is a lively town with lots of fiestas and festivals.
The people are open and friendly and the climate is typically Mediterranean with warm winters and hot summers.
Teenage Mental Health can be complicated.
Every term our TY students take part in a Sunrise walk (followed by a slap up breakfast) to raise funds for a charity of their choice which supports teen mental health in Ireland
What to do in Coín
Coín is a small town but there is plenty going on and lots of opportunities to join local activities.
There is a gym very close to the academy which our students usually join. Also popular with past students have been dance classes, padel tennis and the indoor heated pool. We organise trips to the beach on a regular basis.
We also organise various hikes in the nearby countryside and further afield.
The local shopping centre has a multi-screen cinema which shows films in English with Spanish sub-titles a couple of times a week.
There are many small, local restaurants where students can meet friends to sample tapas and local dishes. When students are going to eat out with friends we ask that the give their host family adequate notice that they will not be eating at home.
We take the students on various excursions depending on the time of year and their interests.
