Transition year Courses
The TY courses are aimed to give students a firm basis for the Leaving Certificate. We work very intensively with them so that they will have a good grasp of all the grammar and vocabulary necessary to achieve a high grade.
Service Description
Admission is on a first come, first served basis. Some courses are extremely popular and are booked years in advance. We reserve places and require a 500 euro non-refundable deposit at the time of booking each course. Balance of fees is paid 2 months prior to the course, in part to the Spanish host family.
Students must book in for full courses. We cannot accept students for part of any courses as it is too disruptive and courses are carefully planned to give maximum learning opportunities within the given time frame.
Many of our students achieve H1 scores in the Irish Leaving Certificate and many have said that they attribute their high scores to their Coin experience.
The TY courses are aimed to give students a firm basis for the Leaving Certificate. We work very intensively to give them a good grasp of all the grammar necessary to achieve a high grade and also work on increasing their vocabulary. Classes are from 9.30 to 13.30 every morning and students are expected to do a small amount of homework and to study. There is a test Every Friday to help keep them motivated.
